Love story
Picked up at last night's meetup. I've never seen the film (the trailers were enough to put me off), but I thought I should at least read the book, just to see what all the fuss was about.

I think one of the reviewers on Amazon said it best:
This is not a great book, by any stretch of the imagination - the writing is sickly sweet, and the basic premise is one that I always find a bit dodgey. Of course a love affair that only lasts 4 days is going to be perfect - you don't have time to find out each other's faults. If she'd gone off with him, after a few months he'd have discovered that she liked to clip her toenails at the kitchen table, and she'd have found out about his inability to remember birthdays... or whatever. I'm much more impressed with love affairs that last for decades and are still going strong despite the imperfections.
But I'm sure some people really love this sort of thing.

If you enjoy reading Harlequin Romances while listening to "You Light Up My Life" played on a Hammond organ, then "Bridges" might be for you.

Taken to a meetup in Dunedin on Saturday and either picked up by another bookcrosser or added to the ever-growing pile of books to be released at the NZBC convention in February.
