Well, I finished it, but I was pretty much just sick of the characters by the end. It's beautifully written, but the subject is the existential angst of a bunch of middle-aged millionaire socialites. They're depressed, they hate their marriages, their kids hate them, their gorgeous houses and rounds of elegant dinner parties are unfulfilling..... eeewww. Some soul-searching and life changes are triggered by the death of their mysterious friend, "Adam", who taught sculpture and quoted Plato and refused to have affairs with the women although they wanted him badly. The author brings up deep questions about the meaning of life and how we should live, but I don't think she answered them very deeply. She mostly addressed "how do you live with piles of money" - not a question I have to worry about!

RELEASE NOTES:

I was leaving it in the pub/restaurant, when the woman at the next table noticed it and commented on the book - turns out she thought it was a different book, that she had read. Anyhow, I left the book with her friend; I hope she visits and logs it in!
