Sandy, one of our WWoOFer guests, read this whilst we were away & tells me that it´s worth a look at. I´ll move it to the front of the shelf in that case, as I´d quite forgotton it was there!

This is the story of a couple who ´give it all up´ to move to the wild hills of Wales in the 60s. This book covers a period from the late 60s to 70s, so it´s a bit dated now. However, it was still an engaging read & I enjoyed it. The Wests are obviously a couple who loved their wildlife, & their attitude to gardening is terribly refreshing!
Apparantly there is a sequel called ´Garden in the Hills´ which it would be interesting to read, if only to find out what happens next.
This was a very quick & undemanding read. I read most of it in the car with the baby whilst escaping from a very dull meeting!
I´m going to put this book in our guest accommodation now, as my available books sometimes pick up new readers that way (though they´re not often journalled!).

Having sat on my shelf for ages and been read by many volunteers passing through our project, this is finally heading off with one of them towards Nisa.
