This novel, set in Australia, is about a man and a woman who both arrive in an eccentric little town and eventually meet. It is "a funny and touching romance about two people who've given up on love". I didn't find it very funny but it was touching in spots. Be forewarned; very little happens. The book is more like a comedy of manners (especially an accompanying, separate story line). I did like the way the author did not use quotation marks to set off dialogue; that made it seem much more natural in the course of telling the story.
