Releasing book in trade to Sissyrun

Journal Entry 3 by lostbookisland on Saturday, November 5, 2005
Another trade that appears to have gotten lost in the post. The postal system seems to snatch up some of the best books and they are never heard from again. It is hoped that this book did indeed get to its intended destination and that a forgotten journal entry is instead the case.

This book has been welcomed to the Lost Book Island Resort to have a nice place to stay while it waits for the journal entry that will tell where this book has been found and if it will get the chance to travel again some day. It is hoped that day will come soon but in the meantime this book has the chance to play some volleyball on the beach, grab a cool drink in the shade of a palm tree and enjoy all of the amenities that the Lost Book Island Resort has to offer.

I am the biggest dork!!! I ALWAYS journal my books the moment they arrive. What happened to this one? So excited I started to read it instead of journaling? What?!?! So there I was, glass of wine in hand and reading all about Lost Island and I saw this book and said aloud (for no one to hear) "I have this book... I can send it on to the person who didn't receive it."
Imagine my surprise when the "lost recipient" was ME! I found a receipt for fast food in the book with the date 5/13/05. So it's been not quite a year. Ok... book, off the hammock and time to get back into circulation. Soooo sorry agschoolgrad....

Well, now that this book has spent a year with me and my stacks upon stacks of TBR, I am ready to pass it along. I feel it only appropriate to post it in the KEEP IT MOVING CHALLENGE. I will pass it along to someone who will appreciate it as much as I did.

Harold Robbins is a master storyteller. This story exposes the heart, soul and mind of huminty in so many ways. The contrast between Angelo and Loren is really incredible. They are bound however by their sins and similarities. Each of the 7 Deadly Sins plays an obsessive role in the lives of both men and their goal is a thrilling, lifethreatening chase. It is a metaphor for man's struggle against life and woman's everlasting fight against the ignorance and control of man. I loved reading it as I have enjoyed all of Robbins' books.

The author uses colorful details and exquisite language to create a connection that is binding with the reader. Readers love Harold's books because he is able to reveal different aspects of the human psyche and titillate every heart and soul with compassion, curiousity and carnal desire as the story unfolds.

Today, more than ever, the fight for a supercar is important. As America struggles against the technological and industrial prowess of Eastern empires, it becomes obvious that The Betsy is a symbol of the American dream just within reach of all of us...but alluding our feeble grasp nonetheless in the wake of our shortcomings.
