Jennifer Roberson is just a darn good story writer. i have read this book several times and have gotten something different out of it every reading. its nothing heavy, just a good entertaining adventure story about two people who arrive at loving eachother, but start out at very different places. Roberson also has a fine grip on Scottlands culture and geography and political climate of seventeeth century. There were nights that i would fall asleep with this book and wake up the next morning thinking i was in the Highlands. enjoy this read, its fun and makes you want to speak in a rich thick brogue.
