I bought this to find out what the fuss is about. I have tried not to read too much about it so I don't have any expectations, beyond an interest in why it has sold so many copies!

I read this very quickly and it was okay while I was reading but can't really understand why there is such a huge fuss about this book, with all the spinoffs! I wonder if it is number one on the best sellers because people like me buy it to sate their curiosity. I read a lot of reviews on BC and a lot of people have named it as the best book they have ever read but for me, it doesn't come close. It's certainly not especially well written.
The research Dan Brown(or apparently his wife) must have done is phenomenal and I enjoyed following the clues (although the one at the beginning of ch 71......hmph, bit obvious and didn't really go well with the other more intelligent clues.) I didn't find the language, particularly the conversations, very stimulating or interesting. I thought Sophie's character turned out very differently from the strong willed character in the early stages of the book who saved Robert and towards the end she was rather submissive beside the other characters. What a mushy old ending. I felt queasy when I read the last few lines before the epilogue. "Their bodies came together......." Such a weak romantic scene!
Happy to pass this on to anyone in Australia or NZ who would like to read it.

Everyone wanted to read this..have since passed it on to Mum, who gave it to my sister, who gave it to her husband. Back at last and now on its way to gabbysmum in Qld.
thank you thank you goodthinkingmax.Arrived safe and sound just now
I enjoyed this book throughly.Everytime I thought the main characters were safe something happened and they were in trouble again.I had to have several breaks just so I could relax lol.
I loved all the clues and if nothing else the book might get some people to take a look or a closer look at the great works by Da Vinci.
