This book was fairly captivating. It held my interest all the way through. I am not a sci-fi fan, so I am always a little put-off when authors try to explain away things, especially the unexplainable in a horror story, with a babble of sci-fi using incomprehensible phrases and words. There is a bit of that in this story, and I would have enjoyed it more had the author not tried so hard to present a logical explanation for the unexplainable.
Other than that though, the story was good and the imagery was designed to be shocking.
This is the 100th book that I have read in 2006. I think I will offer it up as a RABCK on the forum.
