Don't have a proper appreciation of Hemingway, I suppose. I was forced to read this book when I was in high school, though this is not my high school copy.
I re-read it a few years ago, and decided it was actually pretty good. But that doesn't mean I have to like Hemingway.
The story is about an old man and his young protoge.
The man has had a bad streak of luck in fishing, and people are scared of his luck.
He manages to catch a marlin, but eventually at a cost too high to pay.
