A friend gave me this for Xmas and I was really pleased as it's one of those books I've always wanted to read. It took me ages to read, despite being really short (less t6han 200 pages), and I found it really boring - although the characters were well illustrated, nothing actually seems to happen! I worried that I'd maybve missed the point somehow ...
I recently saw the film of Breakfast at Tiffany's and apart from the fact that Audrey Hepburn is gorgeous in it, nothing happens!! So now I'm not so worired that I've missed something important.
I'm taking this to the Reading meet tomorrow in the hope tht someone else can find the missing elemnets that would make it a good read!

caught this at the meet up in Reading tonight. Like I need more books. It's one of those classic-always-meant-to-have-read-but-never-got-round-to. Hope I get round to it now!
a short easy read, in which, it is true, not much happens. It reminded me of the musical Sweet Charity which I saw last year, and in which absolutely nothing happens. Perhaps that is the point of this story. It's so long since I saw the film version - I can't remember enough about it to make any comparisons.
I'm going to send this to the 5th RABCK sweepstakes winner today.
