Dr. Patrick Cory is researching the brain. He hopes to make a discovery that will bring him fame and benefit mankind, and he doesn't feel bound by ethics. One night, there's a plane crash, and Dr. Cory is the only doctor available to respond. He finds the body of millionaire Warren Horace Donovan, still alive, but damaged beyond repair. He sees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and steals the brain for his experiments. He hopes to keep it alive and find a way to communicate with it. In time, he succeeds beyond his wildest nightmares.

Perhaps something was lost in the abridgement, but this sounds very camp. The dialogue is odd sometimes. It still works as a cautionary tale on the dangers of playing God, but the ending falls flat. It seems rushed, which is probaly the abridgement.

Read by Michael Murphy. Abridged on two cassettes.

Love the package with the built-in plastic cases. Thanks!

The story was not as good, I'm afraid. Science Fiction in the hands of a suspence writer sometimes falls flat, I think.
