From School Library Journal:

Grade 6-9 - A taut survival story of a 14-year-old boy - grieving over his uncle's recent death - caught at sea in a small sailboat and pushed by a storm 350 miles from home. Paulsen's spare prose offers an affecting blend of the boy's inner thoughts and keen observations of the power of nature to destroy and to heal.

An excellent book! I bought this at a yard sale, with the intent of recording it, but my program manager got an audio copy of the book the same week. Oh well :o)

Paulsen writes fabulous survival stories. I wasn't too thrilled with all the technical details about the ship, but understand why those were included, and I think most boys would appreciate them.
