I love Margaret Atwood and I have high hopes for this book since it has a "destruction of the earth" theme! The dystopia of A Handmaid's Tale was one of my favourite books so perhaps this will be in that realm?
Loved it! Sci-fi with hints of caution pointing to ethical dilemnas we face today. I'm sending it to Halifax with my Mom so my sister can read it.
Yay! Finally I get to read Oryx and Crake! I've been waiting since it was on CanadaReads last year. I'll read it very soon.
I loved it too! It was everything I need in a post-apocalyptic cautionary tale! With creepy descriptions of genetic-engineering kookiness, all the hard work of surviving, a new society... oh it's got it all. It made me want my own copy, so that I can read it again at a more leisurely pace.
