The Devil in the White City

I really enjoyed this book. Erik Larson did such a great job researching information for this book. It captures such an amazing blink in time that often goes overlooked. This is an era that laid the groundwork for what Chicago is today. Olmstead's work in landscape architecture is felt today even though many people have no clue who this man is or what he has accomplished. Holmes is one of America's most notorious and forgotten killers and is very disturbingly brought back to life in these pages. Burnham is one of the many great men that deisgned the face of Chicago and the struggles he faced are laid out brilliantly.
