A quick, easy read for pure entertainment. It was nice find out through this volumne, how Qwilleran and Koko 'met' and ended up with each other. Lots of red herrings in this story. Found the ending to not be terribly satisfying but oh well...All in all, enjoyable. I have not read too many books in this series yet - I have a lot of catching up to do. :)

This book will be heading off to New Zealand next :)

Btw, celestewa did you get my pm?

I'm glad I started reading this series in the middle, and have only read the first book now, because I don't think I would have bothered to carry on and read the rest of the books if I'd started with this one. It was great to see where the story all started, and to find out how Qwilleran and Koko first met, but it hasn't quite got the same charm as the later books - the author obviously hasn't really got into her stride yet, and it feels a lot more old-fashioned than the others I've read. Probably if I'd read this one first, I would have enjoyed it as a cute story, but not bothered to seek out the others. But having read the later books, I know they get much better, which makes me all the more interested to see how the series gets from here to there :-)

The book has been off visiting Lytteltonwitch for the last month or so, but is back with me now. I'll see if I can find someone else to pass it on to.

It was fun to discover how Qwilleran met Koko, Like Futurecat I am reading the series completly out of order and am looking forward to finding others to find out how they got from the city to Pickax and when yum yum joined them.
