I received this book on 6/22 out of 3 boxes of books from my daughter's boyfriend.

c. 1987 -- 291 pages -- Paperback -- with a Foreword by Frank Richardson -- Military History -- True World War II Adventures -- Soldiers of different flags united by their courage and conviction.

Back Cover: Their lives were as different as the uniforms they wore. They fought on both sides of every European front, some heroically ... some reluctantly. Trusting in themselves, their comrades, and their purpose, they risked everything -- and lived to proudly tell their tales ...

The Stories of:
* Odell Dobson - American Air Gunner - This Virginia-born air gunner's baptism of fire came in the forbidding skies over northern Germany. But his greatest ordeal lay ahead in a nazi POW camp.

* George Paine - British Paratrooper - Not daring enough to remain a Sapper, he was soon leaping from planes as an RAF paratrooper ... and into the largest airborne operation in history.

* Helmut Steiner - German Panzer tank Driver - A member of a German Panzer division, he piloted inferior tanks against overwhelming odds. But even the cripplin defeats on the icy Russian front couldn't shake his faith in the Fatherland.

* Antonio Benetti - Italian Ski Commando - Charismatic, humane, he and his squad of ski commandos found fellowship with Russian soldiers high above the war-torn countryside.
