While there is one spot where this becomes predictable, the second Sisterhood book was just as captivating as the first.
WOO HOO! It's here :) And just in time, because I just finished the Betsy-Tacy series, and this is a great way to follow that. Thanks! It's funny, because this makes me feel like *I'm* getting the pants!

WOW! Time flies when you're busy. I read this book almost a month ago, and am now trying to write a relevant journal entry :)
Surprisingly, I enjoyed this book better than the first. The first was definitely lighter, and easier to read, but this one was more adult. When reading about the first summer, I definitely felt like I was reading a teen book. This one felt like it was meant for adults too, and not just adults who enjoyed books for younger readers. . .
The Lena/Kostos storyline was very unpredictable. I thought they would both go their separate ways and continue growing up. I was definitely surprised by what happened there. Again, not your standard teenage fare.
This book was heavier, a little more angst-filled, although I don't mean "angst" in the annoying, whiny, MTV "Real World" way.
One quote from very near the end really hit me: "Lena had reasonably begun to believe that what you least wanted to happen was certainly the thing that would happen." I remember feeling this deeply in my late teen years. And "what I wanted to happen" wasn't finding a new pair of jeans. . .
Thanks again for sharing this one! It's a beautiful hardcover and I hope it stays in good shape during its travels :) I have doris' address, so I'll try to get to the Post Office today. Put me on the list for the next one, Seanan!

My bad...I received this one and totally spaced out! I just finished it last night. It was good. Similar to the first book. Same fun and poignant. Not as laugh out loud but I enjoyed it. A bit too predictable at times. I enjoyed it because as the first book is, it is unique and different. It offers a great story but not the same rubbish (ie MTV Real World as quoted from the previous journal).
I really look forward to the third one!
Thanks so much for sharing. I will PM the next person and send it off as soon as I can.
Keep smilin!
