I still like The Hatchet better, but who doesn't? It's a good, short, and cute read, but it seems to me that Paulsen dropped the ball. Brian survived the winter - which was supposed to be harsh and cold and cruel, the one thing he was fearing for all his months in The Hatchet - with an ease that makes us city dwellers wish we could survive our apartments just as simply.
