Quite amusing- it's one of those books that can be read more than once.

I have to say, Douglas Coupland is quite the witty writer. First of all, the layout of the novel is unique. It's shaped like a soft-covered, social sciences textbook, complete with little "sidebars", which define Gen-X terms. I was reading this book while waiting for someone at work and a co-worker came up to me, said "oh, I didn't mean to interrupt you, keep on studying." So there you go. :)
The novel centers around the lives of three Gen-Xers, who decide to move to Palm Springs in order to escape the monotony of everyday, career-driven life. They tell each other crazy-funny stories (some fiction, some fact) that help the reader to see how these characters view life and everything encompassing it.
This book was fun to read, and I would recommend it to anyone. The funny thing is that, even though the book was written 11 years ago, I'm sure that the whole "I-hate-this-cubical-job-this-is-not-my-career-I'm-only-doing-this-job-to-pay-the-rent-because-I-think-there-is-more-to-life-than-this" attitude to life still applies today. [Heck, what am I talking about..I'm living that attitude right now!]
