FROM THE PUBLISHER
After her marriage to Damien ended in disaster, Londoner Josie Flynn — thirtysomething and single again — is flying across the ocean to her American cousin's "big mistake" wedding. In her present "love stinks" frame of mind, the last person she expects to be seated next to on the flight is someone like Matt Jarvis. A recently divorced rock journalist, Matt is sensitive, good-looking, and remarkably attentive — and before their plane touches down, Josie's smitten. So how can she hope to convince her cousin to cut and run when Josie is all ready to leap into love again — with a stranger, no less, who might be just another Mr. Totally Wrong in Mr. Seductively Right's clothing?

The point is rendered moot, of course, once they deplane and she and Matt go their separate ways. After all, Josie's got prenuptial confabs to worry about and that dreaded lilac chiffon bridesmaid's dress to wear. But Dante himself couldn't have dreamed up the hell this wedding is proving to be — and when her dream hunk reappears and throws himself into the mix, Josie finds herself wondering how she — or any unattached modern woman, in fact — can hope to survive the new romantic rules of the twenty-first century.Already a bestseller in the U.K., Carole Matthews's For Better, for Worse is a deliriously droll, dead-on tale of marriage, sex, monogamy, and modern love.

I had just pulled into the carpool line to pick up my son, when horror of horrors, I realized I had forgotten to bring anything to read along. So, I reached in back and decided toread whatever book I my hand first touched. This was it.

I can't say I was totally thrilled by it, but I did read it through to see where the author went with the story. My main problem with most of the chick lit that I have read (which isn't much) is the self indulgence of the characters. I've read better; I've read worse, so to speak. Interesting in that the story actually unfolds from three different perspectives, and that the author has momentary sparks of humor (the cat formerly known as prince, as one example)

Anyhow, now that it's on my shelf, I shall decide what to do with it. I may pass it on to a bookcrossing friend who has started an OBCZ where she works out- it seems like it might find a good readership there. I'll find another donation for RutledgeCoffee to make in its place, but the nice RutledgeCoffee label shall travel a bit. Vicarious travel via bookcrossing!

OHMYWORD! You crack me up, bookczuk! The CurvyZoneOBCZ will be happy to have this :) I may take it to read on the plane this week (I like light reading for travel) for my business trip, but it will end up back in the ZONE :)

Thanks lots :)

This was great for a plane read. I read it on the way home from New Jersey to Denver on Friday night. Finished as we touched down :)

Talk about your star-crossed lovers! This reminded me a tiny bit of the movie Serendipity, but not as smooth :) I liked Josie a lot, but it does seem to be "standard-issue" for chick lit these days that the main character just has a LOT of problems! Damien I wanted to punch. Literally punch. I did like the fact that he got what he deserved, though :) I didn't much like Holly either. Think a little more highly of yourself, sister!

I did enjoy the British/American stuff in this, though, and fortunately it wasn't a "trashy romance novel", so I wasn't embarassed to read it on the plane while sitting next to a man!

Thanks again for sharing, bookczuk, and it will go to the OBCZ next time I work out!

Transferring to the OBCZ's shelf. Ant didn't work out tonight, but getting it on this shelf will make it easier to release.
