Journal Entry 4 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Thursday, January 13, 2005
Didn't think much of this book - according to the blurb on the back, the stories were supposed to be humorous, but I couldn't see any humour at all in most of them, and taken as straight stories, they were pretty unsatisfying. A lot of the stories started well (Oakley certainly has the knack of a good story opening), but they seemed to just peter out and never really reach a proper conclusion. Maybe it's just me - there might be some wonderfully funny stuff that I'm completely missing here - but they just didn't do anything for me at all.

I'm starting to think Lytteltonwitch's house is a book cornucopia - no matter how many she gets rid of, she keeps finding more... and bringing them over to my place.
She's promised me these are the last. Yeah, right.

Started reading this book this morning. (Saturday 12)
Journal Entry 12 by rarsberry from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Wednesday, December 30, 2009
Read the last few pages of the book today. (Thursday 31)
Didn't enjoy the book, found all the stories to be confusing and boring, found no humour in the book at all. Glad it was a short book or I wouldn't have finished it.
