Shadow Woman (Jane Whitfield Novel)
1 journaler for this copy...
For a series mystery, this one wasn't that bad. In fact, it was rather suspenseful & kept me reading for a couple of hours until I was finished with it.
brief plot summary
Jane Whified (in the third installment of Thomas Perry's series) is an astounding woman. She specializes in hiding people who want to get lost -- but not just hiding them, rather, giving them a chance to start with a clean slate. Her latest challenge: Pete Hatcher, who knows way too much about business between a Las Vegas casino & the Mafia. Pete needs to disappear and fast, and Jane helps him. But there's a catch: Pete's former employers don't want him to disappear, because they're worried he will go to the FBI. So they send in a team of professionals to find him, and these people are really good. So just when Jane says that Pete is her last one, and marries Carey (her doctor boyfriend), Pete calls with a message that he's been located & needs help. From then on, it's quite suspenseful, and actually just a lot of fun.
recommended for series mysteries fans * mystery readers in general (you could read this one as a standalone)
