[Read on August 3; note how far behind I am in registering/journalling!] I've enjoyed the previous books in Hansen's Dave Brandstetter series, and was looking forward to this one, but - while it's still a crisply-written and intriguing mystery - I found it below par for the series. For one thing it's even shorter than the usual, almost a novella; for another, there's much less in the way of character and relationship sub-plots between Dave and his new lover Cecil (though what's there does advance their relationship a bit, and ties in with the previous and following books). The mystery here involves toxic waste disposal and an accident-or-was-it death...

Sending in an M-bag to FutureCat for the New Zealand Convention.
A huge sack of books arrived today - too late for the convention, unfortunately, but they'll still be greatly appreciated by the Christchurch Bookcrossers, and a few might end up travelling over to Australia for the Brisbane convention in June.
Many thanks Gory, and nekki!

This book was one of a few that was left on the table at the end of our special meetup today.
So I was the lucky one that got to take them home with me.
I'll take them to our OBCZ on Monday. :o)
