bought at an op shop for release...but I think I'll have to read it first! I remember the haunting movie and want to see how it compares with the book!

UPDATE: I got 1/2 way through the book and got distracted by another book and never finished it. SO I am going to send this book on an overseas jaunt to an ex-Kiwi who loves "fush'n'chups"!!! I'd have sent "fush'n'chups" with this book but they may have made the pages greasy! LOL!!

I've seen other copies of this book in many op shops so will one day pick up a new copy and finish reading the story...perhaps when my Mount TBR is lower....*bursts into hysterical laughter*

What a ripping yarn! Love it! Beautiful writing.

Who knows what happened to the girls and the schoolma'am. Lots of possibilites from rape and murder to weird stuff like a time warp.

I'd say that the repressed sexual energy was too much to contain; it burned 'em up and the little pile of ash got blown away by the wind.

Or the rock consumed 'em. Seriously. Ask any f'real Aborigine about such things.
