This was an excellent story of the life of Galileo told through the letters from his daughter Sister Maria Celeste. More than any other religious or scientific source, this book manages to capture the man Galileo Galilei. This book is based from the saved correspondances of Maria Celeste to her father. The returning letters, as property of the church when she died, were destroyed for Galileo's "heresy". While this story is about this famed scientist and astronomer it is also just as much about his incredibly intelligent and optimistic daughter. Although left out of most stories of Galileo's life and work, she was an important part of his life on many levels and an incredible person in of herself.

I really tried to read this book in the time that i had it here, but it seemed impossible; at the moment I don't have any time for so many books and it's not fair to stall a bookring, so I sent "Galileo's Daughter" to cristina-m!!
I'm truly sorry...Thank you omly anyway!

I've received it from kapalika today. I will read it as soon (and as fast...) as I can, but maybe it will take me some time more than I wish, because I have a lot of work and readings for schoool right now. Anyway, I'll really try... Thanks omly and Kapalika :-)

I'm very-very sorry, but I haven't read it :-(

Anyway, as it's with me for so long and I don't find time available for reading it, I will post it to wandering next monday. I've got her address already. Good luck for your travel to the Netherlands, Galileo's Daughter.
