Body of Lies

A taut, fast-paced, and terrifying psychological thriller that pushes the level of suspense to the absolute limit - and beyond. This time forensic sculptor Eve Duncan finds herself matched against a killer who will challenge her skill, test her courage, and threaten her family." -from cover
A fair read, and it WAS interesting to learn a bit about the forensic job of sculpting faces from a skull. Some twists and turns but not completey surprising ones. I found the dialogue kind of silly and all her whining tiresome. On the one hand, we are to believe she is so tough, but then all she does is gripe and squawk and flap around, and everyone else puts up with her hard-headedness and refusal to grasp the reality of what they are trying to get through her thick skull. (hers, not the one she is reconstructing.) The romance seemed sort of just stuck in there to fill a few paragraphs. It was dumb and akward. I would have given it more stars except I am getting very tired of main characters who so stubbornly refuse to listen to reason. Its frustrating to read so many books with this going on within the plot. After awhile, I question the intelligence of said character and then begin to dislike them for their blind childishness. Anyway, once hubby has read this, it wil be up for grabs....if anyone is interested. I know there are fans of this author! Or if not, it will be left for someone to find.
