Sorry to take so long to register this. It is a title about which I've always been curious so will be good to have a try with it.
No promises about speed though.

Released on Thursday, November 04, 2004 at about 4:00:00 PM at Community-Cyber-Space of PNCC Library in Palmerston North, Manawatu New Zealand.

RELEASE NOTES:

I'm travelling to PN today; lunch at the Brown Sugar Cafe (Yum) in Otaki; visit my favourite Bruce McKenzies Bookshop; then a fireworks birthday party in the evening.
Hope to catch a good book or two when I visit the bookcrossing zone, probably Saturday but Friday if there is time.

Yes. Books don't get good reputations, as this one has, without having something going for them. It was rather unusual in structure but Any Tan is a good writer and the stories were absorbing. Lots of semi-historical interest in a lifestyle that we know little about in our safe country.

Looking forward to reading "The Bone Setter's Daughter" also by Amy Tan. Anyone reading this could pm mail me if they'd like to read it. I've not registered that yet though.
