The Other Twin

I picked this book up from the free book exchange at the Farmingdale Public Library - I thought I've read all of Kathleen Stone's books, but I must have missed this one along the way.
Book Description:
Thirty-one years ago, after an accident on a California highway,a woman goes into labor. Her baby survives. But her husband dies.
Today Paige Forrester is a doctor, like the father she never knew. But Paige herself has medical problems, which she's been keeping a secret. Her life becomes even more complicated when she meets Gwen St. James, a woman with secrets of her own.
Gwen is an accomplished makeup artist, a vocation she chose because of the birthmark that disfigures her own face. Gwen, whose past is filled with questions, has never learned the identity of her parents. She's completely alone, a woman hiding behind a skillfully applied mask.
Paige and Gwen become friends, confide in each other, grow close. As close as sisters . . .

An interesting storyline, suitable for a soap opera script!
I found it odd that a private person like Gwen would pour her life story out to Paige upon their first meeting and this made the story rather unrealistic/unbelievable to me. This was just a mediocre read and not one of Kathleen Stone's better books

The first book to come to my new address. Thanks for the trade Valentina1209.
Just finished minutes ago. This is the first Katherine Stone book I have actually been able to finish. For some reason her writing bothers me but I thought I'd give this one a shot since its a twin story and I love twin stories. It was a quick read...a bit fluffy, and a bit unbelievable in places but escapeful(is that a word?)I'd give it a 7.
