Just found the book and havent had a chance to read it yet. Found it at the Y.
Great books not only entertain, they also educate. I learned a lot about Sri Lanka and the terrible events that occurred there through this book. Yet, I would not call it a war story. It is definately about the foibles, passions, and weaknessesof the main characters.
It was written so lyrically, at times it read like poetry. I especially liked the last chapter which wrapped up all the stories of the book in metaphor. Thanks for releasing this book. My wife is going to read it next and then we willrelease the book.

picked up the book pre-travels in Kejara's Bridge- great little veggie cafe- took the book with me to Chicago by car, flew to Frankfort, Germany then on to Israel. I finished the book there with some difficulty....the book is well-written. Unfortunately it seemed to lose my attention about 2/3 of the way through, dragging a bit. i enjoyed vey much the details about the "eye painter", but many other details about past lovers and far-off friends struck me as either unnecessary or absurd. i entrusted the book to a dear being so that he may leave it in a worthy spot in Israel (unfortunately, I could not recommend reading it....). The idea of the Book Crossing is endearing. Thanks!
