Started this yesterday and chortled my way through two bus journeys - it's passed the 50 page test and shouldn't take too long to get through.

Have just finished this book with mixed feelings. I enjoyed the beginning and the end. The bit in the middle seemed to make the same points over and over again and, having heard Bryson's views on modern architecture and town planning twice, I didn't need to hear them another 25. I'd have liked to learn more about the people in the communities he visited but in most of his exchanges, Bryson appears to have been terribly rude to them - funny the first time, perhaps but really not so smart in the long-run.

Will contact moondreamer to see where it's going next.

Started this several times, but have been distracted by other things (kids, illness etc) other bookring books. I managed to find a copy for 25p so maybe I can read it at a later date.
