This is my second copy of this book purchased with the express intention of sending it to another bookcrosser. I have already loaned my first copy to someone else and doubt I'll see it back again. I loved the story and the three other books I have read by the same author. I hope it does not disappoint the intended recipient.

I can't believe that several hours after sending this book to another bookcrosser, she purchased her own copy and registered it. I guess that proves I was on the right track, at any rate. Now she'll think I'm really strange when mine turns up. How annoying. I hope she'll agree that it's the thought that counts, anyway, and perhaps will release this one somewhere interesting.

When Seanan told me someone wanted my address, I couldn't imagine who it could be! But what a *lovely* surprise!

Received this beautiful copy in the mail on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend (US holiday), as a RABCK from ozone-nut! I don't think the spine has even been broken -- it's in wonderful condition, AND has the added bonus of no pictures from the movie on the front or back cover! If you've seen any of my comments on books made into movies, you'll know that I *really* don't like it when they have movie pics plastered all over them. Thus, I happily released my forty-nine cent thrift store copy today, and will probably make this one part of my permanent collection!

I could not believe it when I opened the package to find this book -- what a treasure, and how sweet of ozone-nut to think of me in this way. I was so unbelievably touched by the movie; I'm sure the book will be even more so. I have since found a really inexpensive copy of The Bonesetter's Daughter, but want to read this one first :)

Ozone-nut -- I hope *you* don't think *I'm* nuts for buying this book when I had it on my wish list! And thank you from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to release a dirtier, *much* more beat up copy of this one!

oh yes, and I loved the enclosed card -- what a hoot! I'll quote it here for posterity:

Chocolate: You want me Lady don't you? You want me! YOU WANT ME!
Lady: No Chocolate, I do not want you, for after the initial pleasure there is SICKNESS and there is GUILT.
Chocolate: That, Lady is the REASON FOR MY EXISTENCE. Are you to deny me the REASON FOR MY EXISTENCE?
Lady: No, Chocolate. I would not do that.
Chocolate: Thank you.

(A munching sound is heard, followed by a sigh of pleasure.)

This book is getting ready to cross the ocean again! I'm taking this one with me on a trip to Oberhausen, Germany (with a few stops in between). Who knows where I'll leave it, but I wanted to at least make this note before it gets in the suitcase :)
