Gets good reviews so I thought I should see what the fuss is about!
What a fab read! Extremely funny and with a great plot involving secret creatures and a 14 year old master villain with a bodyguard... Very glad I picked this one up. Perhaps a little violent in places but generally the right people get their come-uppance and those injured who shouldn't be get better. Really interesting world built around fairies, too.
PS - I am sure those symbols on the bottom of the pages have a meaning but darned if I can work it out. Must be like any piece of technology, what you really need is a child to work it out.

Sorry to take so long to get into this but it has been a hectic month.
I loved it. The characters are all excellent and I enjoyed the superior technology of the fairy people. Very funny and quite gory in places, the fight with the troll was superbly written, a great action sequence.
I liked the way that the two sides were not portrayed as particularly good or bad and I was rooting for fairy characters as well as for Artemis.
I can't wait to read the next books in the series.

Arrived from wilksie today. Thank you!
What a hoot! A great read, got to admire the brilliance of Artemis, but like him... I loved the technology of the fairies, some fab bits of kit I wouldn't mind having a shot of. Will be looking out for the others in the series.
Thanks ermintrude75 for setting up the ray.
I have blaisezabini12 address & it will be on its way to her tomorrow.

BEWARE: ONE MAJOR SPOILER IN MY JOURNAL ENTRY!!!
7 October 05: what a great book! I loved the plot, the characters and the fact that Artemis Fowl is such a genius:) I wasn't able to spot most of his tricks - the one with the sleeping pills was the most brilliant in my opinion:)
I have pmed the next reader on the list!
15 October 05: mailed this book yesterday morning.

Finished this book a few days ago. A fun, light easy read. After all its a childrens book. Taken in that context it was very enjoyable and I can see why the series is popular with children. KarenZero asked to be skipped and I have sent 2 PM's to wyldewomin, the first one back on 2/27 with no response so I am going to try contacting Suebo so I can get this book moving. Thanks ermintrude75 for sharing this book.

An update on this book, I tried to contact Suebo with no response, then tried TeenieBeanie with no response and finally got a response from a PM to Breeze144 this morning. She would like to be skipped. So it looks like this book is at the end of the current bookray. I will see if I can find someone who has this book on their cliff1976 wish list and send it to them.
