Just received this cute little book today in the mail. I have 2 bookrings in front of it, so it might be with me for a bit longer than usual for a book ring. I will try to have it moving by the end of the month.

I am eager to read it.

Journal Entry 6 by booknhand from San Jose, California USA on Friday, September 17, 2004
Just finished this quaint little book. It is a compilation of 4 short stories, one being what I would consider a novella with the additional 3 being short stories.

I personally like the main story (what I consider a novella) best. It was about a portion of Holly Golightly's life and the interactions between her and a neighbor during that time. Although it wasn't overly enthralling, it did hold my interest.

My next favorite was the shortest story of the remaining 3 "A Christmas Memory". I liked the philosophical aspects of the story, for example when the friend realizes that seeing God would probably be like looking at everything they see everyday or Buddy's thoughts at the end where he (or maybe she) explains he felt the death of his friend even though they had been sepreated for some time as "...severing from me an irreplaceable part of myself, letting it loose like a kite on a broken string." and then saying based on this feeling he "...expected to see, rather like hearts, a lost pair of kites hurrying towards heaven." This comment is figerative with the kites being him and his friend.

Over all a great little book. I am glad I got a chance to read it :)

Will be sending it on to azbiboi in AZ as soon as I get an address.

I have really made an effort to seek out famous titles and put a little culture, or history in my life but this one was not a winner for me. Passing on at this time and thank you for the opportunity ro read this.
