Don't be fooled by the Disney characters on the cover - this is a true classical science fiction fantasy children's series. Although not as famous a the Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, it is better written and much easier to read with a greater fantasy element involved. The Black Cauldron is actually the second book in the series of 5 -- Disney smashed the plots of the first and second book together when they created their cartoon movie. If you haven't read the first book - grab a copy from the library and then read this one and release!
