The Gaia theory, introduced by James Lovelock in the seventies, states that the earth is a living system. This book contains a series of articles around the theory, by biologists and economists alike.
Since the book was published in the eighties, I have already read most of these ideas, somewhere. Most of the essays are quite abstract.
nevertheless, it will be an interesting read for anyone with a broad mind, willing to look beyond the mechanistic, narrow view upon the world which has dominated our culture for so long.
