This is a wonderful slim volume that is both a collection of Jerry Garcia's art and has a CD with his version of Amazing Grace on it.

This is destined to likely become another secret bookring book.

In my secret bookrings you do not sign-up but rather are chosen by the last person to have the book. Each person who recieves the book makes their journal entry without indicating who the book is going to so that it remains a surprise.

Each secret bookring may have a theme. I have one out there using a book of Thank You's and another on aAppreciation. there are a couple with the book and CD "I hope you dance" to be sent to wish someone strength.

The bookliner notes talk about inspiration and redemption and joy. Maybe those will be the themes for this bookring.

Jerry Garcia's Amazing Grace was among many delightful surprises in the do-not-open-until-Christmas box from ottawabill. [I was good and did not open it until Christmas, but was that ever tough!] I hadn't known that Garcia had ever performed this song, much less created the colorful paintings that illustrate the lyrics - a very moving combination. Thanks so much, Bill!

I went to Hampton Beach to see the Sand Sculpture Contest entries, which are pretty amazing themselves - so I left this book propped up against the railings of the observation area at around 2:30. Lots of people there - hope somebody picked up this lovely book!

I was at Hampton Beach, NH with family and just saw it and picked it up. I didn't know anything about Jerry Garcia. I picked it up while looking at the wonderful sand sculptures. I will pass it on so others can enjoy it. Sorry it's going back toward Nashua, NH as I live in Merrimack, NH

My mother got this book at Hampton Beach and gave it to me to read and listen to. Of course I knew more about Jerry Garcia than my mother being in his generation of listeners. I have enjoyed this book and will pass it on for others to enjoy in a litle while. Being a librarian I want many more people to enjoy it. It'll be fun to see where it goes.

RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book at Union Station on block seating near the entrance/exit doors just before returning to NH. Around forty librarians from NH were in DC to go to the tour the Capitol, National Museum of the American Indian and Library of Congress for NH Librarian's Day 2006. I'm hoping none of them will see it and bring it back to NH. It was a rainy day so I couldn't leave it outside anywhere and I was afraid if I left it any of the buidlings I mentioned that we toured that someone would think it might have an explosive device or something. Well it's gone now so let's see where it turns up.
