CAUGHT IN BRISTOL WEST COUNTRY ENGLAND

Journal Entry 4 by PatriciaHoma from Truro, Cornwall United Kingdom on Tuesday, December 6, 2005
I am a Book Crossing virgin and am delighted to join the club. My partner who is far more observant than I, found this copy on the display table in Truro Library while picking up Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer which he knew I would want to read (If I had not done so already)which he had already spotted. He turned around immediatley to look again for himself and as it was not there 30 seconds previously, it must rate as the quickest pick-up ever.

We had listened to a Radio 4 programme on the journeys of 84 copies of 84 Charring Cross Road and knew what he had picked up especially as the book was in a plastic bag with a yellow piece of paper saying the book was not lost on the underside.

I shall keep my prize for when I go to see my mother in London over Christmas and shall leave it there, perhaps in the Paddington library, or send it onto my Mother-in-sin who resides in the Isle of Wight as I am frantically busy in the run up to Christmas. At the moment I am reading the following: - Medici Money, Banking, Metaphysics and Art in the Fifteenth Century Florence by Tim Parks, Rameses II by T.G.H. James, a large and beautifully illustrated book, which is more adequately described as a tome of the first order and for light relief Adele & Co. by Dornford Yates for the umpteenth time.

I am looking forward to sitting down and having a good long read.
