At fisrt, this book is not a page turner. It's really torturing!!! Nonetheless, it becomes better towards the end. While reading this book, my focus was more to "Sui" (half sister, mistress and daughter - too much role huh?) and "Kazami" (translator, friend and counsellor).

It's a fairly easy read and didn't take me long once I started. I've not read a novel based in contemporary Japan before and it's a little jarring when the characters say things like "That's cool!"

There's minimal tension... just a girl telling a story about how she got involved in this business; how her boyfriend killed himself while translating a novel called NP, how she met the dead author's children some years later, how they all tried to move on and find a closure. Doesn't fall into my category of a page turner.

Released on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at about 12:00:00 AM BX time (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) at Fellow Bookcrosser in Postal Release, Penang Malaysia.
