Good heavens. I have had this book for SEVEN YEARS. Picked it up recently when the London Olympics were on and I noticed the British theme. The book was something altogether different from what I'd assumed, but I found it thoroughly enjoyable. Bryson, the author, does a wonderful job of conveying not just the buildings and background of a place, but channels the spirit. His sense of travel is also quite enjoyable... he seems very open to whatever experiences happen to cross his path. He also shows a wicked sense of humor.
