I was not prepared to enjoy this book so much as I don't tend to read mysteries (although I rated this as literature/fiction). This is a multi-layered and multi-generational tale of love, murder & indifference, set at the turn of the century and in modern-day London. This is a fabulous, fabulous read. Enough said?
