Journal Entry 1 by flybabyRT from Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, July 10, 2004
Dedicated young psychologist Dr Jeremy Carrier is unschooled in the ways of violent crime and incalculable evil - until the kinap and brutal murder of his girlfriend Jocelyn Banks. As more murders of the same gruesome fashion occur, the police suspicion surrounding Jeremy intensifies and the only way for him to prove his innocence is to follow the trail of a cunning psychopath.

Spurring on Jeremy's investigateion is Dr Arthur Chess, a pathologist who draws Jeremy into the confidence of a cryptic society. But when Arthur suddenly slips ways, Jeremy is left to contend with an onslaught of anonymous clues - and the growing realization that a harrowing game of can and mouse has been set in motion.

Who besides Jeremy is playing? And who is making the rules? Jeremy's search for answers seems only to yield more questions. And as the game intensifies, he must decide whether a secret ally is guiding him on the right path ... or a sadistic enemy is setting him up for a fate far beyond even the most twisted imagination.

The book doesn't belong to Kellerman's Alex Delaware series.

A little to dark and depressing for me but it kept me reading.

The book will travel as BookRay to:

I liked the book, but it was a bit long-winded in parts. Dr. Carrier could have treated a few patients less, who did not belong to the main story...

The book will be off to Felsenpinguin today.

Just arrived by post. Will read asap.

1.9.04

Didn't like the book much, I'm afraid. Until about page 280 I found it almost boring, then it picked up some steam but nearly enough... To my taste, the weakest Kellerman I've read so far.

The book will continue its journey as soon as I know where to :-)

I didn`t like this book at all. I´ve read the first 150 pages, and decided not to go on, because it is so boring.

As soon as I got the adress from ste1n1, the journey can be continued.

18.10.
Sent to ste1n1 today!

Journal Entry 8 by ste1n1 from Feulen / Feelen, Kanton Diekirch Luxembourg on Friday, November 5, 2004
Got the book yesterday (04/1142004). I will start reading ASAP !

Update 11/11/2004 :
Finished yesterday. Quite a quick read, the story is not really captivating. I was close to abandoning (about page 180), but i'm too curious to stop reading a book :-)
The last 50 pages are the most interesting and the story is slightly accelerating (if you read only every 2nd paragraph ;-)

Update 15/11/2004:
Bookray travels to:

1. ink-heart
2. You?

Journal Entry 9 by ste1n1 from Feulen / Feelen, Kanton Diekirch Luxembourg on Wednesday, December 8, 2004

Kellerman arrived safely yesterday. Many thanks to ste1n1 for sending it (although not from Luxembourg ;o)). As there are no further readers on the list, it will have to wait on my Mount TBR for a short while.

Being an Alex Deleware fan and reading the previous journal entries, I must admit I was a bit prejudiced against this book and didn't expect too much of it. Surprisingly, it turned out to be an entirely gripping story which I was hardly able to put down. True: you get fond of a character like Alex Deleware whom you have 'known' from such a lot of novels - but hasn't he become a bit shallow of late? Jeremy Carrier, this thriller's hero, is a psychologist too, and the daily grind of his profession is nearly as important in the plot as the actual whodunnit. The characters are entirely credible although the plot may not be so in every detail.
In a word, I enjoyed reading the book and I hope there will be more participants to the ray. Thank you again to ste1n1 for offering the book and being so patient. :o)

Journal Entry 14 by Jessi626 from Otterberg, Rheinland-Pfalz Germany on Friday, April 7, 2006
Finally, I finished reading the book.
The first half was quite boring, which was the reason it took me so long to read. But I was curios what was up with a special person (I don't mention the name here, because it could spoil the book for others). I had the feeling that there was something mysterious about him, so I continued reading. And in the end I wasn't that wrong. The second half of the book was interesting and exciting. But overall the book is average in my opinion.

Now I'll ask in the forum for further ray participants.

I've sent the book to Lakritzschnecke today. She asked for english books in the forum, in order to find new BC members in her english class ;-)

Wow, the book has had many readers yet...and quite different opinions about it.
Thanks for sending it to me.

I'll have a presentation about bookcrossing in a month and hope to find a new reader for it!
