By the author of "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic" and "Shopaholic Ties the Knot"

For Rebecca Bloomwood, life is peachy. She has a job on morning TV, her bank manager is actually being nice to her, and when it comes to spending money, her new motto is "Buy only what you need" - and she's really (sort of) sticking to it. The icing on the brioche is that she's been offered a chance to work in New York.

While I found Becky [and roommate Suze] rather charming and engaging, her freaky spendaholic ways scared me & put me off a bit. I guess I should have expected it....

SURPRISE! I'm thoroughly spoiled! I've been wanting to read the "Shopaholic" books, and this is my first. I can't wait. I know it'll be light, but that's ok. I'm feeling "light" lately. Perhaps too many serious books in a row. I don't know.

Anyway, this is a very fun RABCK, Blue, and thanks for all three books! I'm happy with all of them (well, this one might be a little questionable. . .)! Anyway, thanks lots, and let's talk soon. I know I owe you an email or two . . .

I'm still confused about this series. I wrote this journal entry for "Confessions of a Shopaholic", and I'm feeling a very similar one for this book.

I just don't like this girl's spending problems! They actually make my stomach hurt! It just seems like such an odd topic to write so lightly about, and I'm still disturbed by her lies! I was relieved that she was able to pay everything off in the end (just like in book 1), but still -- I don't think I like these books the way I expected to.

Oddly, the "f" word featured prominently in this one, and I don't remember it at all in the first one or "Can You Keep a Secret?". Just something I noticed.

I did like her discovery of sample sales, which seems to me an ultimately "New Yorky" thing, but otherwise, this book just concerned me a lot. Now I have to decide if I want to bother finding book 3, or just read book 4 and get the series over with!

I hate to sound ungrateful for this book, as I did have this series on my Wish List, after all! And honestly, I thought I wanted to read them, so thanks to all for sharing. If you'd like me to do something special with these, let me know. Otherwise, I'll try to keep them together for . . . .I don't know what!
