From the back cover:
"Rose Feller is thirty; a successful lawyer with high hopes of a relationship with Jim, Mr Not-Quite-Right, a senior partner in her firm. The last thing she needs is her messed-up, only occasionally employed sister Maggie moving in: drinking, smoking, stealing her money - and her shoes - and spoiling her chance of Romance. If only Maggie would grow up and settle down with a nice guy and a steady job.

Maggie is drop dead gorgeous and irresistible to men. She's going to make it big as a TV presenter, or a singer, or an actress. All she needs is a lucky break. What she doesn't need is her uptight sister Rose interfering in her life. If only Rose would lighten-up, have some fun - and learn how to use a pair of tweezers.

Rose and Maggie think they have nothing in common but a childhood tragedy, shared DNA and the same size feet, but they are about to find out that they're more alike than they'd ever believe.

With a heroine to rival Good In Bed's unforgettable Cannie Shapiro, In Her Shoes will delight anyone who enjoyed Jennifer Weiner's hugely popular debut..."

I enjoyed this just as much as Good in Bed. Chick-lit, but a little deeper. :-) I also loved the small bits of intermingling from characters in Good in Bed.

*yay* I love chick lit! I really liked Weiner's Good in Bed. Hopefully this will be just as enjoyable.

Thanks tantan for starting this ring!

*ooops* reading chicklit when I'm supposed to be reading GANBR novels. Oh well... Another great chicklit read from Jennifer Weiner. Like her first novel, Good in Bed, this was a level above most chicklit reads (I also liked the cameo from Good in Bed's Cannie).

I found myself relating to Rose better than I did to Maggie. But I think this is because I'm more like Rose than Maggie. Actually, I found Maggie to be quite annoying at the beginning of the book. But, by the end she has redeemed herself and I finished this novel with a smile on my face.

Received in the post yesterday from Fushmush.

Started reading while I was in the hairdressers, and just couldn't put it down. I have my school reunion this year too - eck!

Thanks Tantan. I usually don't go in for chick lit, but enjoying this.

Will read and post on within a week.

Journal Entry 6 by Gooby from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Friday, October 15, 2004
Received this parcel and went, hmmm... Usually I know what books to expect in the post: this was a surprise. Opened it up and thought to myself, I don't recall having talked to anyone about this one.

All was revealed on looking at the Bookring list. TramGirl & I have quite similar real-life names.

If I wasn't swamped with bookrings I might insert myself onto this one and read it. As it is, I'll pass it on to TramGirl.

Delivered to TramGirl under cover of night (sorry for creeping around your front verandah, 'twas the only time I could get there, and hence didn't ring the bell). Following AuntyMel's lead, I have included a couple of other random books.

AAhhhh, so it was Gooby!! Got home last night and found a bag of books on my bed, I don't use the front door to leave in the morning so my housemate had found them and put them in my room!! I was curious about the other books but now it all makes sense!! You should have rung the bell, would have been nice to put a face to a name, maybe next time! :)

Will get on to this book in the next week or so...

I thought this book started out slowly and was wondering what role the grandmother was playing, but by the end I couldn't put it down and was glad that everything got sorted and people worked themselves out! I agree with fushmush that I found Maggie annoying at the start and definitely identified more with Rose but by the end I was happy that they had each worked out their lives and were happy with what had transpired.

Journal Entry 15 by lostbookisland on Sunday, September 24, 2006
This book has washed ashore at the Lost Book Island after not being heard from for many months. This new arrival will be shown to a room and be allowed a bit of rest before being introduced to the many fun things to do here at the island.

All around there are books sipping cool drinks under shady palms while other books participate in a wide variety of beach sports. There is plenty of sand, surf and sun here for all of the lost and wayward books to enjoy.

It is hoped that very soon a new journal entry will come to rescue this book from the island and send it back out into the BookCrossing world so that it may continue on its journey. It is hoped that the new journal entry will tell all the interested parties where this book has been this long time and where it will be traveling to next.
