I got the book at a thrift store for 20 Cents and only realized afterwards it's actually a simplified version of Dickens for English learners. I still liked the story and to me the changes were not obvious. But then I am neither a native English speaker nor did I read this or any other book by Dickens before.

i never read anything by dickens before and since i want to read more classics and it's pretty thin i decided to start with this one...
i finally came around reading it, but it turned out to be just another classic i don't get. as with hemmingways 'the old man and the sea', i don't see why this should be such a higly praised and famous book... or maybe i'm just missing the point, i don't know...
