Journal Entry 1 by Sheepshank from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Monday, July 29, 2002
This is a masterpiece.
Set in a post-nuclear England, Ridley Walker tells the story of his travels. It's an alien world, seen through alien eyes, but sometimes you realise with a shock what is familiar.
Because of the language you'll find it hard going at first, and after a few pages, when you get the 'ear' for it, you might want to start again. But above all, persevere, and it can't fail to affect you.
