This one came highly recommended, so I was glad to find it at the flea market.

This is one fantastic book!
This is surprisingly the first Atwood book I have read, and I will definitely be looking for more-I loved her style of writing.

This is the story of Grace Marks, a 16 year old involved in 2 infamous murders in Richmond Hill, Ontario in 1843. The story begins before this, with her arrival in Canada from Ireland.

Interesting notes at the end of the book by the author with regards to the factual elements of the story, and those which had to be included whether true or not.

This is definitely a worthwhile read, and I am grateful that it was recommended to me!

Much more readable and enjoyable than 'The Blind Assassin' by the same author, with compelling story and intriguing characters. I liked the multiple personality suggestion for the gaps in Grace's memory but at the same time felt the idea could have been developed a little further. I like the fact that Atwood does not draw definitive conclusions and allows the reader to decide Grace's accountability.

Have already been out and bought myself a copy to keep so will release at next Derby Meetup unless requested elsewhere, first...
