Girl, Interrupted

I was dissappointed in this book. I guess the hype of the movie and all made me think it was a great read. I was tempted to stop reading several times during the book but something made me keep going. The last 30 pages made ploding through it somewhat worth it. It really was her views several years after her being hospitalized. A few interesting thing were said there that made me glad I finished it. Overall it wasn't as good as I had hoped.

I just received it in the mail today. I plan to read it and then release it into the wild. Thanks Bug!
I haven't liked this book as much as I thought I would..everything seems to be so much out of order..really confusing. I am going to finish what I have left and then send it to nancy7102.

Harrowing. This was a good read. I haven't seen the movie, but something tells me that this was not "better" or "worse" than the film...just different. It's a compelling story. I hope that it's harder--much harder--to get someone committed these days, than what the author describes happened to her. I also find it said (as well as obviously sexist) that a female mental health patient would have been released if she were offered a marriage proposal.
