This is a GREAT book. Very informative about the first several decades of NASA. If you read "The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe, this is kind of the same story, except told by someone who lived it. Chris Kraft was the flight director during the Mercury and most of the Gemini missions and didn't retire from NASA until 1982. His account of the Apollo I fire that killed Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee is heart wrenching. He points out parts of the movie "The Right Stuff" that were fabricated to make it more exciting for the Hollywood folk as well. Definitely exciting and interesting as well as educational.
