. . . as if this has any hope of going anywhere but into my PC :)

First, I have to thank Deenbat "publicly" for this gift! What a treat it has been to start this series. Although I was certainly aware of it over the years, I had never read any of the Betsy-Tacy books. So THANKS LOTS, Deenbat! I'm ready for another bookstore trip to get the rest of the series. (Think I'll be able to restrict myself to one a month?)

I cannot recommend these books enough! The stories are timeless, and the parts that make it seem "old-fashioned" just make it more charming. These books just capture the heart of the reader.

Maud Hart Lovelace's writing is just perfect for these books. I can picture the haircuts, their mother's kitchens, the parlors, etc. I LOVED the stories of when they "kept house" for their mothers. OH! Too funny and too cute.

The abbreviations they use with their sisters take me right back to my elementary school years. We made acronyms for *everything*.

On its way to visit fsr44 with a special little gift.

While mailing, I released this, this, and this for the August Summer Blooms Release Challenge.

Received today as a rabck from Antof9. Thank you! I missed this series somehow when I was growing up, and I look forward to discovering why they're a "favorite".

I hope ant will forgive me for releasing this unread, but retc informs me that her young nieces, evacuated due to Hurricane Katrina, could use something to read. So I'm sure these are going to find a good home.
