The 2nd book in Phil Rickman's "Merrily Watkins Mystery" series is just as good as the first, and I look forward to more adventures from Rev. Merrily, her daughter, Jane, and their friend, Lol.
You don't necessarily have to read the first book, "Wine of Angels", before reading this one, "Midwinter of the Spirit". The author re-introduces you to his main characters.
Essentially, Rev. Merrily Watkins has decided to get into exorcism, so she takes some classes to learn more. After she does so, she is faced with a few challenges that force her to doubt herself as an exorcist. Not only that, Jane gets herself into another questionable friendship, and Lol gets into a difficult situation, as well. Just a couple more mysteries Merrily needs to tend to!
As you read, you 'see' and 'hear' things from the viewpoints of the 3 main characters; Merrily, Jane, and Lol. It's very easy to read, a 'page-turner' as some may call it.
